Claude
Nicolas TESTAROSSA
The Ferrari Testarossa is the only large scale car
(1:14) that is not signed "Daum France". It is however,
signed "Creation Claude Nicolas Paris", and hence part
of the Claude Nicolas collection. While there is no doubt this car
was manufactured by Daum in it's regular production facilities,
there is no information as to why this car was not signed by Daum.
Some collectors have attributed the manufacturer of this car to
Kan International. In actual fact, Kan International was most likely
a Daum wholesaler who re-packaged these cars under their own name.
See below for a picture of a Testarossa box that shows Kan International
on the side. It is not clear if Kan was the only seller of these
cars or if other Testarossas were sold in actual Daum boxes or in
yet another packaging variation. I do have a car accessory catalog
which lists the Testarossa for sale and it clearly states the car
is make by Daum. The Testarossa is also the only large scale car
to have clear tire treads rather than the normal frosted.

MONOPLACE
LE MANS
Here is aaother opportunity to expand your Daum
Automobile collection with a classic race car, the Monoplace Le
Mans..
The Monoplace LeMans was the 3rd of 13 Standard
Large Automobiles Daum produced for general distribution. It was
designed by Xavier Frossart in 1986 as Daum's tribute to race cars
of 1900-1950. The car only came with the number "7" etched
on each side behind the drivers seat. A total of 1942 Monoplace
LeMans were sold by Daum.
This piece is in excellent condition, is properly
signed Daum France. It is 14.25" in length and is 1:14 scale.

CITROEN
PAPERWEIGHT

ARNOLFO DI CAMBIO TESTAROSSA
The Arnolfo di Cambio Testarossa is a great suppliment
to any Daum Auto Collection. The same general size, scale and quality
as the Daum cars, the AdC Testarossa shows well next to any of the
Daum cars. The biggest difference, is that Arnolfo car seems a bit
more detailed than the equivalent Daum Car.
The car itself is 12.5'' in length.

DOLPHIN
ON STAND
"Dauphin" - Daum created the effect of
a Dolphin jumping completely out of the water with this striking
piece. With a chrome stand holding up the Dolphin, you get the impression
that the Dolphin is flying through the air above the ocean's surface.
The overall dimensions on this piece are 18"
wide x 18" high x 10" deep. The Dolphin fits securely
on the Chrome stand, but is not attached in a permanant manner.
This has the only correct Dolphin designed for this piece. Not all
of them for sale out there do.

MEDIUM
DOLPHINS PLAYING
Here is aaother opportunity to expand your Daum
Animal collection.
Daum designers loved dolphins. One of their favorite
sets consisted of 2 dolphins, one jumping over the other, as can
be seen in the picture. In fact Daum made this set in two sizes,
one with medium dolphins, and one with large dolphins. The set shown
is the medium sized set. While each dolphin was sold separately,
they are best displayed as a set. The bottom or diving dolphin was
named "Dauphin", while the top or leaping dolphin was
named "Petite Dauphin Sautant".
The dolphins are 10" and 12" in length.

ATOP THE AQUARIUM
Daum was very fond of cats in creating many of the
pieces for it's collection. This is a green pate de verre cat sitting
atop a clear glass aquarium, with one koi fish swimming by. It's
formal name is "Persan".

MONACO SPEEDBOAT
The only Powerboat that Daum designed was the Monaco. This boat
came in two versions. The first, as shown in pictures below, has
the clear speedboat sitting on a ocean blue, green, and white
pate de verre wave. The second version is similiar with the speedboat
on a simple clear plexiglass base. The speedboat is identical
in both versions. The ocean green wave is the most desireable
in that it gives the greatest illusion of speed.

SINGLE CONCORDE ON BASE
A spinoff or a pre-cursor to the Limited Edition Concordes, this
single Concorde could also be considered a bird in flight. I do
not have this in any catalog so I am not sure of the intent, but
the piece is identical to each of the three concordes in the limited
edition Concordes. The base is made of black plastic or resin
and the airplane is supported on a chrome rod similiar to the
limited edition piece.
20" LONG.. This piece is in excellent condition, except
that the tip of the nose looks like it was polished down. Looks
fine if you consider it as a stylized bird. It is properly signed
Daum France.

REGATE LIMITED EDITION SAILBOAT
The "Regate" was a racing sloop was always a very popular
sailboat that Daum produced. This item is slightly different.
It is a limited edition version of the Regate that was produced
for the 1992 America's Cup, and specifically for Team Dennis Conner
who sailed the Stars and Stripes. Only 26 of these special edition
pieces were made, of which this is 4/26. This is the only one
of these that I have ever run across over 40 years.
12 1/2" high. This piece is in excellent condition, except
it has several light scratches on the hull. It is properly signed
Daum France.

ATLANTIS / REGATE CONCEPT SAILBOAT
One of a Kind Prototype
Before the "Regate", One of Daum's most beautiful sailboats
in my opinion, came the "Regate Prototype". Designed
by Xavier Froissart as a concept piece, only one or two of these
pieces were ever made, and it is doubtful another example of this
piece still exists. Complete with keel, this boat is the only
full featured sailboat ever made by Daum. It sits on brass and
stone plinth much like "Atlantis", except smaller. In
actual fact this piece was probably also the inspiration for "Atlantis".
Approximately 14" high. This piece is generally in excellent
condition, but unfortunately it has a chip on the top of the bow.
I think this could be carefully polished out, but I have not done
this.. It is properly signed both Daum France and by Xavier Froissart.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire this piece.

TALL DUAL SAIL SAILBOAT LAMP
This masterpiece, one of Daum's more unique pieces, this Sailboat
Lamp consists of a crystal base and lampshade consisting of two
individual sails. This hardest part of this piece in collecting
is finding an original Daum shade still in good condition. I believe
mine is original, but am not 100% sure. The crystal base resembles
a sailboat hull.
